At the end of September, Troy and I traveled to Raleigh to celebrate the marriage of Suzanne and Stephen. I have known Suzanne since I was 3 or 4 years old. I have known her longer than any other friend I have ever had and we still keep in touch on a weekly basis after all these years!! I love this girl and her sweet family so much. She lived across the street from my parent's house in Wilson until our college years when her parents moved to Wendell. No matter where we ended up, we have managed to stay really close friends throughout the years. It is a rare and very special friendship that I treasure deeply. My desire is that our children experience the same kind of special friendship as they grow older....one that starts early in their life and lasts forever.
Troy and I had to drive from Wilmington to Greenville and then to Raleigh. We had to go to Greenville first to drop Reed off with Troy's parents for the night. This was the first night that both Troy and I have spent away from Reed. I was a little nervous but I was looking forward to some time by ourselves.
What a day it was!! It was super hot and humid!! Troy and I were running a little late of course....Once you have children you seem to never get anywhere on time! Then we got turned around trying to find the house where everyone was meeting. Once at the house, the wedding party put on their finishing touches, pictures were taken, everyone mingled and just hung out until we headed to the art gallery. Suzanne's friends were super nice and so sweet to her. I was a little sad that I did not live closer and could not participate in all the wedding planning and outings like they were able to in the preceding months. With that being said, it was awesome that she had so many close friend near her to help make her day very special!
The wedding was beautiful! Everything was perfect and everyone looked great:) The reception was held under a big white tent right outside the gallery under the night sky. It was such a fun time! Troy and I stayed as long as we could.....I think we left about 10:30ish or so. I was exhausted!! It was a long but joyful day for this 13 week pregnant mama!!
