Reed's First Birthday!!

It is crazy that I am posting about Reed's 1st birthday when he is now a 18 months old!!  Haha!  Hopefully this blog will be up to date by the time he is 2!  So, we celebrated Reed's 1st birthday here at our home:)  We invited family and some close friends for the big day.  Several weeks before his big day, I had been researching endlessly on how to make a cake that he could eat.  When you are allergic to eggs, milk, nuts, soy and wheat, your options are limited.  After a lot of hair pulling research, I finally figured out a recipe for my little man.  It was not the cutest or kid-friendliest cake but hey, it was cake and it was edible!

It was a lot of work getting the garage ready for the party.  Who knew a little birthday party was so much work!  Dana and myself made all the food except the "grill" stuff.  We let Troy do all that...and he managed to catch the grill on fire that day!  haha!  Oh, my dad did make the mustard weenies too!  All the food was so delicious!  I made some pitiful looking (but delicious) cupcakes for all the other kids and adults.

We had a great time celebrating our baby's first birthday.  Time does fly when you have a child!  We love our little Reed so much!  We are so glad God chose us to be his parents.  What a blessing he has been to our family!!  Happy Birthday to our sweet Reed!!
